André Guima

André Guima comes from a broad mix of cultural upbringing. His mother is Colombian, and father is Brazilian. His family moved back and forth between São Paulo, Indianapolis, and Guadalajara, and so he became comfortable connecting with others across cultural boundaries from a young age.

He graduated from Ball State in 2021 with a major in Telecommunications, minors in Creative Writing and Theatre, and a fervor for telling stories. His latest work has been screened at film festivals across the country and abroad, winning a Juror's Choice for Best Student Film at Centre Film Festival and Finalist for Best Short Animation at Hobnobben Film Festival. He now works as an independent filmmaker in Indianapolis.

During his free time, André likes listening to cheap vinyls, frequenting coffee shops, and writing silly reviews on Goodreads.
