Empowering Communities through Connection
We build and train global networks of people, businesses, and organizations to empower local communities and their economies by welcoming and integrating newcomers and the forcibly displaced.
Blending a Humanitarian and a Workforce Development Focus

In 2026, Patchwork resettled over 140 Afghan Special Immigrant Visa holders (Afghan allies of the US Mission in Afghanistan) in the United States through private sponsorship, despite the fact that most of the resettlement infrastructure in the United States being frozen due to policy changes.
With our extensive expertise in international law and refugee resettlement and a variety of cultural backgrounds from five different continents on staff, we can identify, mobilize, and train organizations, everyday people, and local governments from across the globe to strengthen their community and economies by integrating newcomers.

Having good intentions and a bleeding heart is simply not enough. There are more than 117 million forcibly displaced people due to conflict, violence, persecution, and human rights violations, (UNHCR, 2025) and the United States could never hope to tackle this issue on its own.

For newcomers to truly thrive in a community, the will to welcome them needs to be there, from labor needs to the social, community level. We work with regional partners to develop those workforce pathways and engage everyday people within the community to welcome newcomers through private sponsorship (learn more).
