INDIANA'S
CHANGING
LANDSCAPE
SUMMIT

We wrote our stories, ideas, experiences, and visions onto sheets of paper and taped them on a wall next to the letters: "BELONGING." One of those ideas that we thought best encompassed that day read,

"My vision for a stronger, shared future is one where every voice in our community has power, where collaboration replaces competition, and where access to opportunity isn't determined by background, language, or zip code."

One of those ideas that we thought best encompassed that day read, "My vision for a stronger, shared future is one where every voice in our community has power, where collaboration replaces competition, and where access to opportunity isn't determined by background, language, or zip code."

On October 9, Patchwork Indy hosted the 2nd Annual Indiana’s Changing Landscape Summit, themed We, Hoosiers: A Shared Future, at the International District Community Center in Indianapolis. The day-long gathering reflected a simple yet powerful truth: no matter where we come from, we all contribute to Indiana’s future.

More than 100 community organizers, corporate executives, legislators, educators, healthcare professionals, researchers, faith leaders, and storytellers discussed the changing landscape of Indiana’s migration, demographics, health equity, civic engagement, workforce inclusion, and international relationships.

Towards the end of the day, we also took the first steps in taking action during our working groups in the areas of:

  • Licensing, Credentialing, and Workforce Pathways

  • Civic and Community Development

  • Language Access Solutions

These conversations continue through our coalition, Indiana Network of Welcomers (IN-NOW).

We're deeply grateful to our sponsors, Alzheimer's Association and Welcome.US, and to everyone who participated in this meaningful step towards action and connection.
